Together with another volunteer you provide garden and nature activities for a permanent group of residents who are true nature lovers.Detailed description
Indoors in the cold months and outdoors in the warm months. A small group of residents for whom nature is important and has always played a role in their lives. You devise small activities within a fixed structure and are assisted by the welfare coordinator.
What could such an activity look like?
Together with another volunteer, you prepare everything that is needed and then pick up the residents of this club.
After welcoming the participants, you tell them what you are going to do for the next hour. You start by playing a bird sound. After residents have guessed, ask what residents know about this bird. You supplement it with information. Then take the Gelderlander's nature page and read articles and show photos. The main activity comes next. It is autumn and you have brought all kinds of tree leaves. And also some pictures of trees. Leaves are studied together with the residents and placed next to the right tree.
To finish, this time pour a glass of cloudy apple juice while letting nature sounds be heard. After this you guide the residents back to their own floor.

About Campanula ZZG zorggroep
Campanula is small-scale. Four floors with eight residents each. Residents with dementia live on three of the four floors. Residents on the other floor who are physically deteriorating. Residents meet in the communal areas. There are various atmosphere corners, such as sports and exercise, wellness, a garden room and theater corner where small performances take place. In the evening they eat a hot meal. Together in the kitchen or in their apartment.
A permanent team of residential counselors works on your floor. Day and night. The residential counselor helps with washing and dressing if necessary. And ensures joint activities, such as reading the newspaper or playing games. At Campanula, a nurse and geriatric specialist is always available during the day. A psychologist or physiotherapist is called in if necessary.
One team together
20 to 30 volunteers are active in Campanula. Sometimes they cook. Or walk and cycle with residents in the green, Lentse surroundings. Involvement of family and friends is also important. It's nice if they contribute. For example by organizing activities. Piano concert, song evening, a stage performance; everything is possible.
